This applet plots the trace of the polarizability tensor of a two-dimensional dielectric body over the resonance region. The blue color is real part, red color imaginary, and gray color absolute value. Start by drawing the body. Then click calculate and wait until the computation is accomplished. The intermediate result of the computation is also shown as gray color plots. You can change the dielectric losses of the body.
